I was searching through my old print images for a possible future exhibit. To my surprise I came across an 11x14 portrait of the first president of post-apartheid South Africa, Nelson Mandela. The photograph was taken by an old colleague of mine, Susan Winters.  We worked together at the Philadelphia Daily News back in the 90's.  She gave me the above print years ago. She spent some time in South Africa documenting women being affected by HIV/Aids, if I remember correctly, while working at the News. She presently resides in South Africa and you can see some of her work on this website. I will always treasure this photograph.     More can be seen on my blog: Picture_This!   //
