Photography by E.W. Faircloth The small town of Bridgeville has some big ideas about economic development.  One of them is to develop a Downtown Master Plan Charette.  The town commissioners felt in the best interests of the town, its  residents, inhabitants, visitors and business and commercial interests a need to promote the development of the downtown area. Market Street is the main drag through town.  There could be more homes than businesses on this stretch of road, with little street parking. I'm guessing the length of Market targeted for development is less than a mile. I went to couple of public meeting to discuss the "vision."  Afterwards, I thought this would never happen, too many private residents.  Too many to have little boutiques, coffee shops, antique stores, bookstores, gift shops, restaurants and other places where people travel to as a destination.  Places where they just have to stop while traveling to other locations. So, what do I see yesterday, right there on Market Street?  A Confederate flag. Somehow, if I were driving or walking down the street, I doubt if I would feel welcome in Bridgeville. I'm guessing the flag owner wants to make some statement, but that flag belongs in a museum not on Market Street.  He/she needs to get with the program so Bridgeville can become what the rest of the town would like. By the way, that flag no longer pi$$e$ me off, as I came to the conclusion that it's the flag of the losers.     More can be seen on my blog: Picture_This!   //
