One of my favorite blues musicians, B.B. King, passed away in Las Vegas at the age of 89, on May 14th 2015. The King Of The Blues and his faithful sidekick, Luceille ruled a long and productive reign. My other favorite blues musicians were John Lee Hooker and Albert Collin, both deceased before B.B. A song of B.B.'s came to mind, out of his many hundreds of recordings: Goin' Down Slow, written by James B. Oden I have had my fun If I don't get well no more I have had my fun If I don't get well no more My health is failing me And I'm going down slow Please write to my mother Tell her the shape I'm in Please write to my mother Tell her the shape I'm in Tell her to pray for me Forgive me for my sins Tell her don't send no doctor Doctor can't do no good Tell her don't send no doctor Doctor can't do no good It's all my fault Didn't do the things I should Mother, please don't worry This is all in my pride Mother, please don't worry This is all in my pride Just say your son is gone Out of this world somewhere
