Above is a HC-SR04 sonic sensor.  It's being controlled by one of my Raspberry Pi's, a credit card-sized single-board computer developed in the UK by the Raspberry Pi Foundation with the intention of promoting the teaching of basic computer science in schools.  The sensor is used to detect motion or approximate distance.  After two days of trouble shooting I finally got the sensor to measure some distances. The whole exercise was to play with one of my Pi's.  Last night, I asked my wife to stand in front of the sensor at different distances.  I was proud to show her the different measurements by the Pi/HC-SR04 setup. She notices more than one Raspberry Pi in my work space and says " you've got 3 Raspberry Pi's."  I just smile and shake my head in agreement. I'm smiling because I have more than 3 :)
