Photography by E.W. Faircloth Today, I did a favor for a buddy, who is involved with The Heritage Shores Military Club. Seems the Club made a sizable amount hosting a USA Army Band Concert a few months ago. It was decided by members to make donations to other local organizations which serve veterans. Shooting this, I guess I could have thought of something more "artsy fartsy". You know, something more creative. Maybe something shot with a fisheye lens, or check on table with donor/recipient(s) in background, my buddy ripping the check out of checkbook with his teeth, or etc. No, I settled on a modified "grip and grin." That's donor and recipient(s) gripping the check and all with big smiles. So why didn't I try to show off my photography, my creativity, my imagination? Well, I've mellowed a little since retirement as a photojournalist. These pictures are about organizations which seek grants, donations and other funding to keep the doors open. It's not about the photography of E.W. Faircloth. The organizations need simple photographs showing donations made to them or donations they make to others. They probably don't need during a grant review, questions about what the photograph shows. Maybe I'm wrong, I've been wrong in the past.
