That's the unmanned NASA rocket yesterday, October 27th just minutes before scheduled liftoff. For safety reasons, a boat being in a restricted area, the launch was cancelled at the last minute. Some friends and I were there to photograph the launch. Everyone was disappointed when NASA announced the cancellation. Launch would be rescheduled for today. Today, the rescheduled launch ended in a tragic explosion on liftoff. Had my friends and I been there today, we would have seen that explosion. We were in the right place, but at the wrong time. Editor's note: The above picture was taken of the rocket at it's Wallop Island location. We are 3 miles from away and above picture is a large blowup. The rocket is the second left vertical object near water tower.
