My wife and I recently went to Williamsburg VA  because our timeshare wanted to sell us more points.  They would like us to pay them thousands of dollars only to have our yearly fees increase by $200.  What am I missing, being retired on a fixed income? If it wasn't for love of my wife, I'd unload the d@mn thing. Diamond Resorts, our timeshare, invited us for 3 days and nights to Williamsburg with no costs for our stay. Not only that, but they supplied a wine tasting one evening and a cooking show the next.  That cooking show was wonderful.  The chefs explained exactly how to cook many courses, handed out the recipes and passed around 4 wines to pair with dinner.  Diamond paid for about 13 couples.  We noticed the price per person at this  restaurant was $85.00  a piece. Thursday night, we were left to our own devices.  Margo and I decided to go dancing.  You aren't really surprised, are you? We decided for travel to Richmond VA, about an hour away.  There is a Cuban restaurant, Havana 59, which has a Salsa lesson and dancing every Thursday night.  Arriving early, we decided to have a bite to eat.  The waitress brought out a cup of black bean soup for Margo and I needed her camera. What? My Panasonic pocket camera was getting flaky before we left but I didn't take a backup camera, a bad move.  My Panasonic camera refused to work the second day therefore I don't have any decent pictures of the cooking show, nor could I get pictures of the soup. Margo's phone has a better camera than mine so I asked to use hers to acquire the above picture. The Salsa was fun.  The place was packed.  It reminded me of Brazil's in Philadelphia, so many people and little space to dance. There weren't many great dancers there but folks were having fun.  The music was wonderful. So, if you're in Richmond was want fine food then I suggest Havana 59.  If you're lucky enough to be there on a Thursday night, go upstairs and take your dancing shoes.
