Janet, my next door neighbor  creates stained glass pieces of art.  She asked me to take a picture of her latest creation.  She would have been satisfied with the an image of the glass itself(bottom image), boring. She knows glass, and I know how to shoot it.  In other words, she creates piece of glass art, and I know how to capture light in that glass. The first thing I thought about was the need to have something or someone to help show size of the "piece."  Since she had just taken a shower, from working in her garage, and taken off her makeup, I asked her son to model. The picture  uses him to show the  large piece of stained glass.  I even left his face a little subdued  as to keep emphasis on the glass. So a photo tip is to use  people and other known items as size references in photographs. This helps on many occasions but is not necessary all the time.
