Last week  I bought some zucchini from a local farm market.  The price for the zucchini was good compared to the other over-priced items. Maybe on the other hand, it wasn't. Later while preparing the zucchini for dinner, I noticed a thick liquid which oozed from the vegetables once cut. According to OrganicGardening.com, "Plants that wilt and ooze a sticky sap when cut may be infected with bacterial wilt, which is spread by cucumber beetles." The zucchini was cooked but I later threw it out.  It was a good thing as I had a disease in it. So much for "fresh off the farm!"
