One of the things most people in the city of Bobo Dioulasso can claim on par with other cites is the use of cell phones. They are everywhere.  I guess it make sense as it's much easier to put up one cell tower than wire an entire city using telephone poles or fiber cable. The cellular market is huge in Africa.  You can buy minutes from your neighor in many cases.
