Right there on my calendar of events was the Heritage Shore Veteran Club event planned for the 11th of January.(That's Wednesday, Wayne) SPEAKER: NANCY E. LYNCH – AUTHOR: VIETNAM MAILBAG – VOICES FROM THE WAR 1968-1972 From the early 1960s through March 1973 hundreds of thousands of men and women served in Vietnam, in an undeclared and highly controversial war. During the peak years of that conflict, from May 1968 through December 1972, a young reporter, Nancy E. Lynch, relayed the hopes and fears, the joy and the tears, of hundreds of soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines from Delaware through the Vietnam Mailbag column she wrote in the Wilmington Morning News. So, this morning I get up go to Zumba and head over to the Clubhouse for the meeting. The room is full but no Nancy. There's a guy, Raymond L. Vincent Sr., talking to a room full of residents about CSST issues and the dangers associated with them. CSST is a type of conduit used for natural gas heating in homes. Today, (That's Thursday, Wayne) I'm at the Commissioner's Chat, not the Veteran Club. That meeting was yesterday:) Well, being there wasn't a total waste as I made this blog picture.
