Well since I don't want my blog to be predictable, here's a picture of a raw chicken being browned before being placed into the oven.  My daughter Maya does it this way and it makes a lot of sense. Well, it does if you aren't a vegetarian.  The browning seals the bird and that darkened skin adds a lot of flavor during baking.  Maya also uses a meat thermometer to remove chicken when the breast meat reaches just the right temperature.
