A young woman from Evans Farm Produce explains a good tip to use when picking a cantaloupe.  Every Wednesday during the summer of 2011 Heritage Shores of Bridgeville De hosts a mini farmers market in front of it's Fitness Center. Here's the tip: When purchasing a cantaloupe try to find one with a clean break from the vine. The spot she is pointing to should not have a stub left.  It seems, according to her, that the fruit when ready will separate cleanly from the vine. Now, I know of a Facebook friend who runs another farm market in Bridgeville.  Maybe she can verify if this is true.
