The Military Assoc. of Heritage Shores sponsored a Patriot Day commemoration this September 11, 2010 . The Heritage Shores 55+ community is located in Bridgeville DE. The lights were dimmed as a video of Melissa Venema, age 13 at the time, played "Taps" some years ago. In front of movie screen is a member of the Woodbridge High School Marine Corp ROTC who salutes while the song is being played in video. This is not the sort of thing I would normally attend but one of my neighbors asked me to take photographs.  That, plus I knew they would also be used in our community newsletter.  Oh, and I also planned to send a few to the local newspaper. While taking pictures today during event, one of my neighbors states "I can't believe" there are guys cutting grass". He was referring to folks he felt should have been present at the Patriot Day event. I mentioned, if there had not been a request from a guy I like and respect, I would be one of the guys cutting grass.
