That's Dr. David Cowell and dance instructor Pam Wood during a fund raiser, Dancing with the Delmarva Stars. The "Stars" were well known and high profile Delaware people. As with the TV show, the stars had tutoring/teaching from dance instructors and such. David Cowall (Dr. Dave) is the Medical Director of Coastal Hospice, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology. Prior to working for Coastal, he served in the United States Navy and has been in private practice. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Dave is married and the father of 3 sons. His hobbies include scuba diving, astronomy, sailing, travel and, of course, ballroom dancing. Local student instructor and social dancer, Pam Wood, is a charter member and past president of the local USA Dance Chapter of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She has been ballroom dancing since 2005. Through private training and group lessons, and having the opportunity to dance with professional level partners, she has learned tricks of the trade that will help new dancers acquire a more polished look on the dance floor. She will help new dancers avoid developing bad habits before they are learned. To help accomplish this, Pam is offering private and small group lessons to meet the needs of novice dancers. Community group lessons are kept to 10-12 students so students receive more personalized attention. Because she has been trained to teach both the lead and follow roles she works equally well with male and female clients. Pam is eager to share her love of ballroom dancing - particularly with those who say they are dancing impaired or rhythmically challenged.
