Last week the residents of Heritage Shores, located  in Bridgeville DE, were treated to a small workshop discussing disaster recovery. It was made clear the best thing  to do for recovery from a disaster is to plan ahead.  In other words, be prepared for the worst. For example, I take certain medications and would hate to be without them for a week or more. So I should always have a supply on hand, not only in my house but maybe some in my neighbor's house or even in one of my daughters home back in New Jersey.  I should probably have a 3 day supply of fresh water just in case someone sabotages the municipal water supply or the water main is destroyed by accident. There are a bunch of things we can to do to prepare for uncertainty.  Yes, prayer will help but it's always nice to be able to eat something while we wait for our prayers to be answered. A good article can be found on AssociatedContent.com.    The Red Cross also knows a lot about disaster recovery and planning. Pass the peanut butter.
