Comcast, my local cable provider, keeps sending me promotional material in the mail.  I even received a telemarketing call once trying to sell their phone service. It is my belief that people make change happen. Don't get me wrong, prayer is good but somebody has to do the grunt work here on the ground. I informed the person on the other end of the call that I used Vonage and didn't see making a change until Comcast's rate came down. This was done with the hope of the caller telling their supervisor " look, Vonage subscribers know we're way overpriced on our phone service.  Maybe we should charge less than Vonage.  A few people, like one of the guy I called today, don't like an introductory offer which goes up to $40.00 a month after three months.  He said he only pays $29.99 the whole year and gets more features than what we offer". Evidently that strategy of mine didn't register or the caller didn't hear me, wasn't listening. So when I got that promotional piece today I decided to send it back to the Comcast Marketing department. The photograph of the young woman above was copied from the promotional material. The promo "piece" was addressed and sent back to: Attn: Marketing Department Comcast Corporate Headquarters 1500 Market Street Philadelphia, PA 19102-2148 I politely suggested they remove me from their mailing list, as they were wasting postage. Vonage works best on a high speed Internet connection. I suggested that their IT department be put to use identifying Vonage users such as myself who use Comcast for high speed Internet.. Once found Comcast could even save more by not wasting postage on them too. Finally, I mentioned that with those savings mabye they could offer more competitive rates. Comcast, can you hear me now?
