Photo by Maya Ebony David That's me and my favorite salsa teacher after class.  Barbara Capaldi owns and operates The Atrium Dance Studio in Pennsauken NJ. Not only is she a smart and successful business person, she is also who I consider the best dance teacher in South Jersey.  She remains fit by teaching classes hour after hour on any given day. The weekends finds her working also. All her students know that she loves to dance and can find her at other locations dancing just for the fun of it. Now, my wife prefers Sonya Saamova who operates the  La luna Dance Studio in Bensalem PA. Sonya is a great teacher and makes sure the ladies have styling.  Barbara on the other hand makes special effort to make sure the guys get the moves. The other night my oldest daughter, Maya, and I went to a lesson together. During the middle of the lesson Barbara spent about 10 minutes discussing etiquette and what she expects from her students. For one thing, she suggests at every dance you go ask someone you've never dance with out on the floor, no matter what their ability. Also, she reminded the ladies not to refuse a dance to some poor slob who walked all the way across the floor only to hear "no thank you". This is why I like Barbara as a teacher.  She not only teaches great dance steps but how to be a good dancer with people skills.
