That's Wagner Guinard with one of his model planes at a model plane air show in Valley Forge PA. Through out the day members of the Valley Forge Signal Seekers held flying demonstrations, open flying and candy drops. Oh, I almost forgot the free food and drinks. What's a candy drop? One of the models is fitted with a device which holds about six handfuls of candy in the belly of the plane.  After the plane takes off and makes a couple of passes over the field, during the last pass the belly open up and drops candy from the air.  The children then run onto the field and gather the goodies. Talk about excitement! Wagner loves to fly model planes and has a number of them. What good father would not give his children an opportunity to enjoy such a wonderful sport? Not many. That's Wagner's son, Tyler, on the right during a period when everyone could take the control of a plane in the air. The club has something called a Buddy Box which allows a novice to take control of a plane while having an experienced pilot there to avoid crashes.  It's like the dual brakes/steering wheel in car used to teach driving. No, they don't use steering wheels on the transmitters but joysticks.  I think Wagner told me that it takes six controls to handle a plane. What about Wagner's daughter? Unfortunately, the age limit was 5 and she's only 4.  Next year, she gets to play.
