My wife and I save our loose change.  Instead of  using it to make the job of a cashier easier we put the change into a bowl for the grandchildren's college fund.  So far we have only a grandson but you never know. Over the past past months we've saved a few  dollars. No we don't keep large quantities of coins around the house.  When the bowl fills up I'm off to Commerce Bank in Dover DE. This bank has a coin counter and it costs nothing to have our coins counted and placed into the college fund. Since I'm no longer living around places to constantly spend money the bowl gets fewer coin deposits than in th past.  But, it stills adds up.
