The main light( the sun)  in this picture is coming from the rear toward his left ear.  I used a flash strobe unit to fill in his face.  This brother soaks up the light. I'm to shoot portraits of golfer next weekend and Whiskey, the lifeguard, modeled for me.  In about a week our photo club will cover the Members and Guests Tournament at Heritage Shores.  My role will be to take  pictures of 2 man teams(the women's tournament is in August) for souvenirs.  I don't like uncertainty so I went over to take some test pictures.  The concern for me would be getting good facial shot of people wearing golf hats and such.  The lights in test were setup to throw in light from the side. Two things happen with this.  One, it keeps red eye and flash points out of those wearing glasses.  Two, it lights up under golf hats. Houston, we're a go.
