Isn't wonderful how many cameras have self-timers.  Of course, with self-timers come the ability to take self-portraits. It was such a nice day that I decided to go to Shamrock Farms which  has an 18-hole par 3 course.  I saw a few of my neighbors there also.  I joined them for a few holes.  Besides getting out to enjoy the weather I needed to practice.  It's time I started playing with the 9-hole'rs.  It's a group of residents who play 9 holes on Tuesday every week. Over the past months my neighbors have all suggested I come and play.  They swear that I'll be fine and that the guys only play for the fun of it, many not even keeping scores.  So far I've not felt ready and only practice at the driving range.  Well, I've decided to go for it. Next Tuesday I'll be out there with the 9-hole'rs. Life should be one long series of lessons. And what may seem unappealing at one time may be very desirable later in life or vice-versa.  Until last September I had never hit a golf ball and even a desire to do so. A friend once told me that in golf you play yourself.  Maybe this is the appeal to me.  Only you and your ability control that little ball.  You can't blame anyone but your self. I like that. My wife will probably say it fits my "control freak" personality.
