Here are the Faircloths and the Sougues in the Purple Parrot Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach DE. The Sougues were visiting us in Bridgeville DE. We decided to make a trip to Rehoboth Beach which is know as a vacation and outlet shopping town on the Delaware Bay. Margo and I ate at a Mexican restaurant there last fall. The food was good and we will return again to that spot. We decided to try an untried and untested place on the main tourist drag. What caught our attention was the decoration. They were people having drinks on the outside porch. It seems like a place to be. Wrong! Maybe the drinks were good but the food left a great deal to be desired. For instance, I ordered the gumbo. Note to the chef: GUMBO HAS OKRA IN IT! It's kind to say all of us were disappointed with the food. So the above picture we're smiling because we were spending time together. We next went to the beach for a few minutes. I asked one of the locals what was the best restaurant. Of course, he wanted to know what kind of food did we like. We said seafood and he told us of Jakes. It seems Jakes is about a block away off the main tourist drag. By the way, the name of the place to avoid is The Purple Parrot. Great decor but lousy food.
