Ewart Rouse is a Trinidad-born journalist and educator.  He reported for the Trinidad Guardian, the Associated Press, and was a reporter and editor at the Philadelphia Inquirer. Besides his love for writing he is a passionate cricket enthusiast.  Ewart has taken both his loves and fathered a new novel.  Sticky Wicket, Watkins at bat is the first novel in a trilogy. In the first book now available, Ewart spins a fable about the members of a Fernwood, New Jersey cricket team.  These immigrants from the West Indies, India, Pakistan and England yearn to play the game of their youth: cricket. The book tells the obstacles they face in a satirical manner. I've seen Ewart in my library on occasions.  That's the Cherry Hill library.  The above picture was taken in his home office.  His home is in Lawnside, New Jersey.  I've seen others, also non-Cherry Hill residents, in my library. I don't mind.  More than likely they don't mind me fishing in their lakes. The Trinidad Guardian is doing an article on Ewart and his book.  Ewart asked if I would take a picture to send the paper. It's the least I could do for an old friend even if there's not a lake in his town.
