Dr. Irene Hill-Smith at head table after being honored at the Candance Awards. She and 6 other women were honored by the National Coaliton of 100 Black Women for various achievements. I'm the "official photographer" on our community newsletter staff. It's now a paid position, just volunteer work. Since my spelling, grammar and sentence structure can be below par at times, it was best I donated my photo skills to the newsletter of my retirement community. Was that last sentence too long? Over the past three issues I've had pictures from the Valentine Day Dance, St. Patrick Day, Christmas material, and other events. This past Saturday was the first resident golf tournament of the season. Of course, they asked me to shoot event for the next publication. I was looking forward until I remembered that I had a paying job in New Jersey. The NCBW 100 had called me at the last minute to take picture of their Candance Award. All is not lost, however. Our community is having a Model Seder dinner around the 16th, 19th or 24th(I never pay much attention to details this far in advance). This will allow me to get a bunch of pictures in the newsletter.
