Good Samaritan: Someone who voluntarily helps someone else who is in distress. The term "Good Samaritan" comes from the parable of the Good Samaritan related in the Book of Luke in the New Testament of the Bible. The parable tells of a Samaritan (a resident of Samaria) who stopped to help a man who had been injured and robbed, while others passed him by. The above taken from MedicineNet.com. On this day back in December, I had an opportunity to be a good Samaritan. For some reason, I had to go to Georgetown, DE to Motor Vehicles.  The truck driver on left and friend ask if I had jump cables.  I did and stopped to help. Unfortunately, it must have been something other than a dead battery as the jump didn't help. They thank me and I took my cables and left. I enjoy helping others.  I think I've now grown to the point where I don't even expect a thank you in return.  I've done favor for drivers on the highway and a few have not acknowledged my help.  Long ago, I realized that at one time I was expecting an acknowledgment of my good citizen behavior. I stopped expecting and now I  thank myself for trying to do the right thing.
