Patriotism is a kind of religion; it is the egg from which wars are hatched. -Guy de Maupassant, short story writer and novelist (1850-1893) Months ago in my weekly e-mail from the mayor of Cherry Hill there was talk of the above flags.  One of the township residents felt it would be a good idea to display USA flags  and yellow ribbons in support of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. In spring, cherry blossom are in full bloom in our town.  Along Chapel Avenue, where this picture was taken, the street is lined on both sides for many block.  It's a beautiful sight. After a small detour, back to the flags.  I send the mayor an e-mail reply.  My feelings were even though I was a veteran, I would not fly any flags or tie yellow ribbons on any of my trees.  But if there was anything else I could do to bring the troop home, please let me know.
