Jamila Faircloth receives a proposal and engagement ring from Benjamin Vaughan, Jr. on April 29th 2007.   Ben chose Jake's Restaurant in Franklinville New Jersey.  The ring was delivered as a surprise on the chocolate tray seen in picture.  Ben's sister, Elmeada Frias, was there to capture all on video with her camera.  This picture was a framegrab taken from the movie that she shot.  What seems like almost a year ago, Ben seemed to have strong feelings about Jamila.  One Sunday he came over and asked us how they should proceed in their new relationship.  I wanted to make sure they really knew each other before making any commitment.  At the time, John Legend had a song with the words "take it slow"  and "we're just ordinary people".   I laughed and hummed a few words of that song to Ben and Jamila.  We all laughed.  But I was as serious as a heart attack.  Over the months their love has grown stronger . . . and they took it slow.
