You have to give credit to the construction industry. That's a pretty innovative bunch of folks. Take the construction of my neighbors new addition, for a good example. There's not enough room to drive a cement truck between our houses to pour the concrete slab that was needed a few days ago. So the contractor ordered a telescopic boom-mounted concrete pump to do the trick. The boom telescopic boom seen above is 100 feet long. That was long enough for the concrete to be pumped from the street into the back of my neighbor's house where the new foundation was poured. Behind the white truck is a yellow cement truck. The cement truck dumped concrete into a container area on white truck. The concrete was then pumped through the boom into the rear of house. Boom is not in final position in above picture. They needed to prime it first and that's why it ends in the front yard. Since the street was blocked off for about 2 hours, my mother-in-law and her buddies got a lot to talk about. The bus driver of her seniors group had to change the route that day.
